Whoever is not a misanthrope at forty can never have loved mankind.

I took a little extra time on this page.  Peter deserves it.

Girii: Jacob, how did Peter die?
Jacob: Peter Pup took a twenty-story dive into a foundation of freshly poured concrete. He was probably hoping that the concrete would stop the retribution virus. A quarter of a million people died. Fifteen years later, Washington state is still a no-go zone. But he was a brilliant scientist. During his time with the project he saved billions of people. I keep wondering if the good he did balances out the... Girii -- inside. Quickly.

Heh, I just found this, and I really like it. Awesome concept and it’s cool to watch your artwork evolve. Can’t wait for the next update!

  2. Jacek says:

    The concrete burp killed me….

I’m just surprised that the remaining 97% of Washington’s population got out alive.
Given the current powers of present drones, a military one in this setting should be able to sink the ship from miles away. This one’s either amateur(by someone with a bone to pick with the Genocide Project), not prepared for attack (had an unrelated mission and not properly armed, or being used for observation of areas of the deck not clear from above), or under orders to minimize casualties (precision assassination of Jacob without bombing the whole ship). I’d bet on someone trying to steal the case, but that deck lacks the landing space for non helicopter/VTOL drones.
Possible Chekhov’s Gun, in the form of golf club and skulls.

  4. Admirable storyline…

Any story reflect the teller’s surroundings.

Appreciate how you avoided mentions of present days
Genocide Men, had you spoke of them, you would not only have been shut down but very likely been “offed” in a particularly gruesome way as “they” always do!
    Look at this week massacre:

Future Genocide men are indeed admirable compared to what humanity endured the last millenia!

    Thanks, all.

Ming, I would be careful about relying on this comic to make political points. The point of this comic is probably not what you think it is. In general I don’t like links in comments here — it’s often hard to tell comment from spam — but I’ll err on the side of generosity this time.

And last week, Shikome asked about Joey. I just wanted to assure you that we’ll meet Joey and hear all about him, eventually.
