Had a thought earlier this week, and finally checked up on it, but… is Fumiaki supposed to be the doctor’s surname? It’s Japanese enough, but it’s only used as a given name as far as I can tell.
His full name is Tatsushiro Fumiaki — I think ‘Tatsushiro’ is supposed to be his surname. Japanese people put the surname first, don’t they? In any event, his friends call him ‘Tatsu’ for short.
Yes, the Japanese put the surname first when writing in Japanese. When they write their names in romaji, they usually use the English name conventions. What had me confused is that everyone is referring to him as Dr. Fumiaki instead of Dr. Tatsushiro.
It’s something I’ll have to think about and maybe fix, then. Thanks, Gaijin.
