Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts.
Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts.
Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me…
Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.

Yes, that’s a shout-out to Freefall, a friend to the Devilbunnies and one the best (and oldest) comic strips on the web.  I came up with Dahnai years before the internet — and I can prove it — but she obviously has a lot in common with Florence Ambrose.  Hanging out with a more dangerous crowd, though…

Msaka: You -- you're Dahnai!? You're alive? You're real?
Dahnai: Everyone asks me that. Could be worse -- they could be shouting 'Doggy'. Dr. Fumiaki sent other messengers; you rejected them. I thought you'd listen to me.
Msaka: The others asked me to leave my homeland. If Dakar falls, so will Senegal. I won't allow that.
Dahnai: Dakar will fall. A Genocide Man -- a woman -- is coming.
Msaka: Lola Lamb is no threat.
Dahnai: The Genocide Project has a new agent. They call her Caera Shou.
Msaka: Caera?
Sakut: Senator -- our camera on Routes des Niayes!

The crazy doctor’s intel is impressive.
Yes, Caera’s been reinvented, and the other Shou is about to drop.

  5. Remus Shepherd says:

By the way, ‘Shou’, if I’m translating it right, is Chinese for ‘Beast’. That comes out later in the story. Someone correct me if I’m wrong so I can fix that part in advance. 🙂

  6. Darls Chickens says:

Another mystery appears settled. From the neck down she’s pretty much anthropoid plus fur and tail.

  7. Ol' Gui says:

I show up late and I notice that furbearntrout already made the comment I was afixn’ to make.
