Society is like stew. If you don’t keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!

Chapter 11, Page 22

Yes, you all guessed that something bad was going to happen…and maybe it’s made some of you grumpy.  But remember, Jacob is on the way.  And while Jacob and Roger are on their way, the girls are back on the island getting into trouble.

You must see the magnificent cover page I’ll be posting on Thursday.  Michael convinced me to let him color it, and it looks stupendous.  See you then!

  1. Moxie Man says:

I’m surprised the genocide pack worked for him. You’d think it would be keyed to only work for Jacob or another Genocide Man.

  2. evil713 says:

isent it the hacked/broken pack from the beginning chapters?

  3. Ming the Merciless says:

By the time Jake arrive, they’ll all be pretty stiff…

  4. SCAScot says:

    Oops.

  5. Matt40000 says:

    … The ____ will play

And those eyes are a pretty strong hint

  6. So did Fumiaki modify himself so that he wouldn’t succumb to any Genocide Project diseases, or is he about to die too?

  7. Darls Chickens says:

If that’s a Dover bus on a Dover street, then you might want to confirm the right/left-handedness of this scene.

I hope the easy-diseasey kit can be switched to “inhale”.

  8. Waitwaitwait.

    WAIT.

Two pages ago, Jacob said he was heading for Britain. The G.U.S. building that serves as the Genocide Project is in London. The retribution virus can wipe out civilization for hundreds of miles, and who knows what Fumiaki just released…

This could wipe out the entire Genocide Project save Caera and the founding members.

  9. Remus Shepherd says:

Good thinking, Cap’n. A few notes: Genocide Men are mostly immune to disease thanks to boosted immunity from their artificial endocrine system. The retribution virus can wipe out a large city, not hundreds of miles. But as you said, who knows what Fumiaki released…

  10. Remus Shepherd says:

Hmn. Out of curiosity Darls, why do you say Dover?

I’ll be honest, it was Dover in the original script but I’ve chosen a different location since. If Michael put in Dover-specific artwork I may have to do…something to fix it.

  11. Darls Chickens says:

Ah. I’m no geography star. I saw British coast and scenic white cliffs and I jumped the rest of the way. I mostly noticed which way the driver and traffic sat and thought hmmm.

Does the kit really release a visibility smoke cloud with each out-fection?

  12. SpectralTime says:

…I feel like a bad person that I’m more glad that he ended it on a genuinely chilling line rather than the lame off-rhyme I was expecting than I am sad that humankind is probably toast.

  13. Remus Shepherd says:

I would not have made the plume opaque, but I didn’t specify it to Michael and that’s the way he drew it. (In other words, he didn’t draw anything behind it for me to work with.) It works fine this way.

  14. Ming the Merciless says:

Just flip the image, is all…

  15. @Remus: Really? I could have sworn that area of effect was correct.

Meh, maybe I got a bit excited.

  16. Jerden says:

There goes another city. And the Genocide Men were doing so well in avoiding this kind of thing! It hadn’t happened for at least 5 years! Oh well. I suppose Fukami’s right, people will benefit in the long term. He might get more interest in his project. Though I guess it’s his clone’s project now.

  17. Remus Shepherd says:

Maybe you’re confused about the ‘retribution’ virus. That’s just the virus that’s released if a Genocide Man dies. It’s somewhat small in area. The case *could* release a continent-wide plague, if you programmed it to do so.
