A country which is secure in its institutions and confident in its laws should not be ashamed of the concept of mercy.

Chapter 13, Page 19

Not very long ago, Jacob was suicidal.  He’s past that, but offer him a chance to sacrifice himself to bring down the Genocide Project and he’s on board.  Abhik isn’t going to make it that easy, however…

Abhik: Our goals are not the same as Fumiaki's. It is not our intention that anyone die from his plague. We wish to use it, along with your trial...to destroy the criminal Genocide Project.
Jacob: You know, that's good enough for me. I agree with you about the project. If making me a scapegoat helps bring them down, I'm for it. Take me in. I surrender.
Abhik: Actually...I was hoping this would be a training opportunity. Brahmin, please subdue Mr. Doe.
Jacob: Really? Aw, come on...

  1. Kirta says:

    What a twist!

  2. Jay says:

Those poor Brahmin. Still, it’s what you deserve if you’re “just following orders”… pity Ahbik’s not there!

  3. Sonja says:

Okay, I was with you for a moment, Abhik, but now I hope the Genocide Men will kick your and your people’s a**.

  4. Moxie Man says:

Alright, so Jacob will have to kick some backside and then he can surrender.

  5. Barzha says:

subdue? i think their stuck on maim, which would be needed for a soldier of jacobs caliber and experience, they might learn a thing or 2 while he subdues them heh heh heh

  6. The Sidhekin says:

Oh, come on. They can’t force him to fight. 😉

  7. I actually figured *Jacob* would ask to fight, just for funsies.

  8. Darls Chickens says:

An asset to your goal of shifting global power, or a punching bag for four guys, which do you value more, mister loudspeaker?

Y’know, Kevin’s a pretty disagreeable creep, but as tyrants go, it’s not hard to come up with a lot worse.

  9. Foxhack says:

Guys, you know you can train with him, voluntarily, after he’s in custody?

    Guys?

  10. Ming the Merciless says:

The extra arms may add strength but they sure have to be an hindrance in the agility department. If you look at the original Pit Bull Terriers fighting dogs, they were skinny little 40 pounders with a big head and they could run circle around the monsters they breed today, or any Rottweilers…The old Pits were so nimble and fast that the eye could not follow their moves, like the rapier of Cyrano
(He did beat off 100 professional killers). So, four should be a piece of cake.

  11. Dave says:

I’d ask if Abhik was aware of Geneva Conventions regarding assaulting surrendering enemies, but I suspect Geneva is riddled with plague by this point in time. XD
