Chapter 15 cover

Welcome, folks, to Chapter 15 and our new artist, Kasey Quevedo!  He’s premiering with this awesome art Girii and…well, let’s just say some of her new friends.  As usual I’m doing graytones in the interior pages, but I can’t do color — this cover is all Kasey and he hit it out of the park.

But we’re not going straight to Girii on Thursday.  Things get out of control in this chapter, but first I have a little set-up to do…

  1. EveryZig says:

Killer robots are the natural predator of zombies, so I can see how that would extend to use against suspected plague weapons in general.

  2. Unmaker says:

Girii sort of forgot (or didn’t know) that problem in her planning – her empathy is useless on robots.

  3. thomas says:

My first thought was “Steven Tyler speed walking”

  4. Fantastic cover, Kasey! I knew you’d be the right man for the job. Well done.

Hey Pat, I noticed you made your name public? I stumbled on an interview of yours, and in regards to your question on “why you write”, I wanted to say that your perspective and insight is definitely appreciated, if only to remind myself that there are others’ whose outlook gets as dark as mine!

When I first saw you mention genocide as a topic of comedy, or when you introduced Hank as a character, my initial reaction was “What! That is way past the comfort zone”, even though I myself is someone who constantly pushes the zone of what is comfortable. So it’s been great to have your comics around for the past few years as I definitely gained a lot of insights. And Hank’s speech was just brilliant, it’s still vivid in my memory!

  6. Pat Scaramuzza says:

Yeah, to publish the comic the ‘right way’, I had to create a corporation, and that makes my name public, so I decided to just go all out. I’m past my comfort zone on several levels with this project. 🙂 Glad you’re enjoying it.

  7. You Are Now In Jail For 12 Years says:

Patttttttttt =D yay comic! Was waiting eagerly, etc. Question that sprung to my mind, though – don’t know how hard it would be, as I know nothing about websites, but if it wouldn’t be too much of an issue, maybe add a “random” button along with first/previous and next/last, in the style of xkcd and Questionable Content? Pls hope it can be done. Either way, thanks for GM 🙂

  8. Ice Raven says:

    NIFTY ! 😉

  9. Pat Scaramuzza says:

Actually, a ‘random’ button is easy — it’s part of the ComicPress package. But this is a sequential story comic. I didn’t think anyone would want to view a random part of it. 🙂 I’ll think about adding the button. Maybe have a poll?

  10. You Are Now In Jail For 12 Years says:

Just my thoughts. In bookstores, for example, people sometimes flip to a random part of a book to see what it’s like when deciding about buying it. Also, Questionable Content is a sequential story comic too (albeit “slice-of-life” with no real overarching plot beyond the continuing development of AI and its ramifications for human/synth relations), but the random button lets someone who’s finished the whole thing (at least up to today) jump back and forth, taking the luck of the draw in re-exposing themselves to parts they really enjoyed or other parts they maybe didn’t like so much, to give them a second glance 😀
