Chapter 15, Page 7

It’s an interesting thing.  As the author, the artist’s job is to make me look good.  But as I’m also the colorist/graytoner, my job is to make the artist look good.  There’s a lot of teamwork going on here…and I mean Kasey and I, not Girii and Kentaro.  🙂

Girii: You don't want to shoot me. More importantly...they don't want you to shoot me.

  1. Unmaker says:

Has Girii graduated to full mind control? Because that’s what it looks like.

  2. NJB says:

I think it’s more that like Kentaro and his abilities, as she understands them better, she gets better and more confident at using them.
That’s how it strikes me, anyhow, they’re both discovering what makes them unique and how powerful that truly is, in parallel (and in tandem really).

  3. Pat Scaramuzza says:

There is some learning how to use her power, yes. But I’ll put the blame on trying to speed up the story a bit. I could have had three pages of Girii conning the soldiers, but I want to get back to Jacob ASAP for the imminent craziness happening there. (Just one more page!)

  4. God of Cows says:

Not to mention the killer drones pointing directly at their testicles. It’s a powerful indicator to do what the empath says.

  5. --jt-- says:

The drones get accused of aiming there like the short guys get accused of looking *there* by the tall gals.

  6. NJB says:

But jt, look at the drone in the background, at its arm guns, now tell me that it’s not prepared to pop a cap in the soldier’s a…

If yah wanna get picky, NJB, I’d say the only the front ‘n’ center drone is the only one realy aiming at the guy.

The rest of the angles are cheeted to look good for the “camera”.

I could draw out all the lines of perspective for you – but I’ve found that’s not much appreciated by the fans. Let alone the artist.

  8. --jt-- says:

    Only needed only one only.

  9. NJB says:

Don’t worry, not being picky, I can see exactly what you mean (the chap I was joking about would graze the soldier’s hip with its front left (from our view) body gun, maybe take out the soldier’s kidney with its head gun) but wasn’t intending on letting that small stretch of the imagination get in the way of a little humour.
