The problem with those Enlightenment values is that when you get all hyped about them you generally end up hating human beings (because they obstinately refuse to become the New Man) and killing enormous numbers of them.

I’m undecided on textures.  I think they can help set the mood and make a panel look better, but only if they’re used sparsely.  I leaned on the crutch of textures and photoshop tricks too much with my last comic.  But I might slip them in here in moderation now and again.

Just note, however, that unlike Indefensible Positions, changes to the art are just me trying to improve.  I’m not connecting art changes to story events like I did in IP.  It was a cool effect, but this is not that kind of story.

Jacob: I saw firearms and harpoons outside. Half of you are wearing animal skins. You're not incapable of violence.
Ugyuk: Not everyone in the village is part of my bloodline. The non-empaths provide for us. Ahujut here is our best hunter.
Ahujut: If you hurt them, I will make you pay.
Ugyuk: Boy, don't. Just don't.
Jacob: You have no clue how dangerous you all are. You don't know history at all.
Girii: That's not true. We're totally home-schooled. I took social studies and math!
Jacob: That's not what I meant...
