Lola: Enemy casualties?
Peterson: Initial satellite estimates are about three thousand.
Lola: Good soldiers. They never gave me enough good soldiers. Ah, well. The good news is that's 500 kills per trainee. There's twelve thousand enemy troops remaining. So all we need is 24 more volunteers.

And Lola forgot to account for leg shattering attrition. She’ll need 30 volunteers to account for that. 🙂
12,000 remaining enemy * (6 volunteers/3000 enemies) = 24 volunteers. Lola’s math is fine.
She is making some very big assumptions based on a very small sample size . . .
I’d get a few extra volunteers, just to be sure.
Assumptions..volunteers? To die for nothing, you need SOME motivations…hard to find any there…

I am assuming the “you get superpowers!!!” is the sales pitch. . .the downsides of the treatment is left in the fine print nobody ever bothers to read.

So what happened to the old genocide man plot, where they would wipe the population of any country that messed around with genetic alterations, using plagues released by the genocide men? Running around at superspeed shooting people isn’t really the same idea.
Wiping the entire population was always a backup plan. 🙂
The concept of the Genocide Project was centralization of power in one agency backed by the goodwill of a world government. That power included augmented agents, biowarfare, drone fleets, even nukes. They eliminated threats using whichever means was appropriate. Sometimes sending one covert agent is the best way.
Lola may need to remember that the defenders now have viable and proven options for eliminating her soldiers. To wit, the defenders now know that her troops *can* be killed and how to kill said troops.
Add a 20% fudge factor and she should be fine 😛
