I asked the 7-year-old the other night if she was afraid of ‘monsters’ when she shied away from a dark room. She looked at me like I was crazy — monsters are for losers who don’t need to fear war, abductions and explosions.

Chapter 19, Page 18

Dennis was almost named ‘Denise’, because honestly who could tell?  But I decided not to detract from the main joke.  We’re coming up on the last chapter soon, so I’m running out of time to make jokes…

↓ Transcript
Jacob: You want to ambush Lola Lamb? Are you insane?
Msaka: She has to be stopped. She's cutting a swath through my troops. But she always circles through here.
Jacob: You can't fight Lola. We need to bargain with her. Even if you kill her, she'll have a retribution virus loaded. You'll end up killing all your human troops and half the British isles. Msaka: We have a plan for that. Dennis?
Dennis: I'm gonna put her genocide case in this.
Jacob: The fate of millions of innocents depends on the integrity of a plastic trash bag.
Msaka: We're working with what we have.

  1. Jago 7 knives says:

A plastic trash bag to hold off a genocidal virus…well, at least they have a plan..sort of..Better than nothing anyway.

  2. Thomas Sounness says:

Oh good tactical line there … very good line indeed …. a trash bag

  3. Takedown says:

Well, at least you didn’t give them two horns.

  4. QCN says:

Where is her genocide case anyway?

If it’s now part of her wheelchair he’s going to need a bigger bag…

    • Azeldan says:

Wheelchair? Lola doesn’t think that small. Her retribution virus delivery system is built into the building’s ventilation system. And the plumbing. And the fire sprinklers. And the tile grout.

  5. CapnCoconuts says:

Does the retribution virus release if a Genocide Man is captured and imprisoned, assuming the case isn’t kept too far away?

    • Elliot Schmidt says:

I read it as she’s chosen to load one in, though she does not / did not have to do such a thing. I suppose if Jacob had wanted to load one, he could have, but he probably didn’t. Lola probably loaded one because it was a prudent deterrent, theoretically. You didn’t see (whatshisface, the previous director after Lola stepped down) have a virus that killed of loads o’ folk

  6. Glen says:

Today’s comic should have been sponsored by Hefty… ^_-
