indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.

Chapter 20, Page 6

You’ve all been uncannily insightful during most of this.  Yes, Roger could step in…but that’s a decision to kill, and he’s genetically a pacifist.  This is a tough moment for the boy.

Jacob: Sorry, kid. Sooner or later...every generation makes that decision.
Roger: (sigh) All right. Kentaro's attack programs work on Lola's chair. And the genocide case. I'll shut them all down. But Msaka...this won't save your troops.
Msaka: They volunteered, to change the world.
Roger: I...didn't.
Msaka: Welcome to the war. All troops -- rush Lola Lamb in the atrium! Now!
Jacob: Wait! Now's the time to talk to her!

  1. Jordan says:

Jacob, she has no intention of talking unless it’s to provide time for her to kill all of your allies.

  2. CapnCoconuts says:

Jacob may have a point in that Lola is one of the few people who could sort out the world situation, but she’s made it fairly clear she’s sticking to her guns.

  3. QCN says:

Did Lola end up with her 24 more volunteers? Her chair might be down but I expect that she’s not.

  4. -skimmer- says:

Doesnt look like to me that anyone has to die if Lolas chair and case stops working…unless they intend to murder Lola as soon as they can.
