The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

We’re going to take a short detour to check on the remaining Genocide Men.  Jacob’s bad day is being noticed back at home.

Roger's Narration: ...Back at the G.U.S. building in London, at the Genocide Project headquarters...there were a few people who knew everything. You've probably heard their names in history class. Peter Pup. Kevin Kidd. Lola Lamb. Jacob Doe. Joey. I got this security footage much, much later. If I had seen it then, I probably would have run.
Kevin: Lola. It's good of you to come in.
Lola: Calling me out of retirement, Kevin? It better be urgent. Get me up to speed.
Kevin: Jacob's genocide case has gone offline. Last telemetry from it suggests he may have been attacked. He hasn't contacted us. He may be dead, but there's no word of a retribution virus in the area.
Lola: Oh, god, not Jacob. He's always been our moral center.
Kevin: If a mercenary like Jacob is our 'moral center', then we are well and justly damned.
Lola: Yes, of course we are. If you ever retire, you'll know that for certain. Some nights I can almost feel Satan licking his chops.
