Chapter 6, Page 22

Is it clear that Roger is using electronic communications whenever he tugs at his earring? He’s only done it a few times so far. I was thinking of putting a wireless icon there to make it plain…

Well maybe it’s fitting after all, that as Roger makes his escape from Joey we’ll all be escaping from 2012. Happy New Year, everyone!

Jacob: This could work. We'll pull Joey to a place where he can't kill innocents. Then I have to figure out what to do when he catches us.
Roger: How about he not catch up to us?
Jacob: Don't fool yourself. This will barely slow Joey down.
Roger: Jacob, you may know how to fight...but I know how to run away.
Girii: You hired all of the taxis?
Roger: I love my expense account.

  1. DaveP. says:

!- I agree that the wireless icon might be a good idea. Until I read your gloss, I thought it was just a gesture (straightening his jacket collar or whatever)

2- So, let’s see… Our crew is gonna trade off dealing with the scary, hard-to-kill psychopath now when they can see him coming, for having him find them later, when they may not.

  2. SCAScot says:

I agree with DaveP., I thought it was some sort of nervous self-soothing gesture on his part. A wireless icon would help.

Also, rule #1 for scary psychopaths – deal with them now when you know where they are, rather than later, when you don’t. Otherwise, they tend to pop up at inopportune moments (for you).

  3. Now, as for me, I’m naturally paranoid. Namely, what the heck is Jacob staring at in that last panel?

  4. Remus Shepherd says:

As for Dave’s #2, it’s Roger’s choice. Jacob was ready to deal with Joey, although he isn’t sure how. 🙂

  5. Sonja says:

    Happy new year to everybody!

I, too, didn’t think that gesture of Roger was something special. It should be made more plain.

  6. Ming the Merciless says:

In a few more decades, “wireless icon” will be as much passé as saying “video taping” or “filming”…
