I have not failed; I’ve merely found ten thousand things that don’t work.

Hmn.  This page, now that it’s complete, feels a little rushed.  But I wanted the symmetry, and the only way to have it and give it more space would be to do a two-page spread — which I’m not ready to attempt, yet.

Oh, and I need to learn how to draw crowds faster.  Can’t kill masses of people until I can draw large crowds.

Jacob: I don't usually do this with an audience. At least, not one that isn't shooting at me.
Ugyuk: We won't fight you, Jacob. Do what you have to do.
Jacob: Hmn. This is an official Genocide Project sanction! The local deviant population has been sentenced to death by bioweapon. Nothing can stop it. Now I'm leaving. I'm commandeering that snowmobile. Are you listening to me?
Ugyuk: Yes. But...
Jacob: Shut up.
Ugyuk: Ah?
Jacob: Listen to me. The virus is mistuned. Harmless.

  1. SCAScot says:

    A mis-tuned virus?

I wonder – does the genocide case custom manufacture the virus based on specs that Jacob inputs, or was it pre-loaded with this particular strain, and Jacob figured out that it wouldn’t work based on the genomic information he gathered back at the bar?

  2. Remus Shepherd says:

The comic will go into the Genocide case’s abilities later, but it has pre-loaded base strains. Jacob can load a virus and then fiddle with it, including tuning it to attack a particular genome.

Basically, the case is able to create any of the pandemics of the 21st century as listed on the Timeline, or it can create new ones. It’s a general-purpose biowarfare device.

  3. Dave says:

I just read through the timeline, and now I am all kinds of curious about Genocide Man “Joey”‘s apparent tendency towards “accidents”.

  4. Remus Shepherd says:

Joey and the rest of the Genocide Men will show up in a few chapters. 🙂
